Principal

It is truly an honor to join the Taylor Road Middle School community as your new principal. I am excited to become part of a school known for its tradition of excellence, strong partnerships, and unwavering commitment to student success.

With nearly 30 years in education and over 19 years serving as a school leader in Fulton County Schools, I bring a deep passion for teaching and learning, along with a commitment to fostering environments where every student can thrive. Most recently, I served as principal of Esther Jackson Elementary School, where we focused on strengthening instructional practices, building a positive school culture, and ensuring that every child had access to high-quality learning opportunities.

On a personal note, my connection to this district runs deep. I am the proud mother of two adult daughters who are the product of Fulton County Schools. Their experiences helped shape my belief in the power of strong schools and dedicated educators. I also truly believe that it takes a village to support and grow our students, and I look forward to partnering closely with staff, families, and the community to ensure every child’s success.

I am particularly excited about joining the Taylor Road community because of its reputation for academic excellence and community. Middle school is a pivotal time in a student’s journey, and I am committed to ensuring that each student feels supported, challenged, and inspired as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. My leadership approach is rooted in collaboration, transparent communication, and continuous improvement. I look forward to working alongside our talented staff, engaged families, and outstanding students to continue the strong legacy of Taylor Road.

Assistant Principal – 6th Grade

Ms. Martha Patorgis has been a part of FCS for many years and has been an Assistant Principal at River Trail Middle School and Roswell North Elementary School prior to coming to TRMS. She started in the classroom as a special education teacher then moved on to become an Instructional Support Teacher over special education. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and her Master's Degree at Georgia State University. She is so excited to continue working with 6th grade and the Taylor Road community!  Ms. Patorgis can be reached at patorgis@fultonschools.org or at (470) 254-7095. 

 

Assistant Principal – 7th Grade

Ms. Rachel Kidd  has been a part of the Taylor Road family since 2019. Originally from Akron, OH, she began her career in education after earning a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education from Bowling Green State University. Her teaching career began outside of Charleston, South Carolina, where she taught both 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and decided she wanted to pursue administration. During that time, she earned her Master's Degree in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina. She moved to the Atlanta area in 2017 and spent two years teaching in Gwinnett County before finding the right fit in Fulton County at Taylor Road.  Mrs. Kidd previously taught 6th grade TAG English Language Arts and earned the title Teacher of the Year before accepting the role of Assistant Principal.  Outside school, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their twin toddlers. She is so excited to continue working with the Taylor Road community!

Assistant Principal -- 8th Grade

Mr. Ronald Huggins has been a member of the Taylor Road Middle School family as an eighth grade history teacher and Administrative Assistant since 2014.  Prior to joining the staff at Taylor Road, Mr. Huggins served as an Assistant Principal in Richmond, Virginia for five years and as a middle school history teacher for 16 years.  He has over 27 years of experience in education.  Mr. Huggins has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Virginia Union University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.  He is married and is the proud dad to twins who are students at Kennesaw State University.  Mr. Huggins is excited to continue working with the administrative team at Taylor Road Middle School and looks forward to working with all stakeholders in the Taylor Road community.   Mr. Huggins can be reached at hugginsr1@fultonschools.org or at (470) 254-8704.   

 

Assistant Administrator

 Ms. Katharine Bridges has been a proud member of the Taylor Road Middle School community since 2007.  After earning her degree from Miami University, she began her teaching career at Taylor Road, where she spent 18 years teaching 6th and 7th grade Social Studies.  During that time, she completed her Master’s Degree in Middle Level Education at Georgia State University and served in several leadership roles at TRMS, including Social Studies Chair, TAG Department Chair, and Grade Level Chair.  She was honored as Teacher of the Year before stepping into her current role as Assistant Administrator.  Outside of school, Ms. Bridges enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their two sons.  She is thrilled to continue supporting students, teachers, and families as part of the Taylor Road community.
